The Shorelines - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
The Shorelines
The Shorelines are a psychedelic rock band from Santa Barbara, CA, co-founded by multi-instrumentalists, Maxton Schulte and Justin Kass. The duo’s notable psychedelic sound embraces their surf, fusion, pop and jazz influences. Kass’ concrete and signature impact behind the kit conceptually synchronizes with Schulte’s tasteful and dreamy guitar tones. Influenced by Cream, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis and Pink Floyd, The Shorelines construct an atmosphere of engaging progressions and distinctive melodies, especially during their improvisational jams. Both in the studio and on stage, they offer listeners something truly contemporary, nevertheless, something familiar.
The Lavender Scare - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
The Lavender Scare
The Lavender Scare is an ambitious indie rock band from Los Angeles, CA. Their sound is a unique blend of catchy melodies and dense arrangements inspired by multi-instrumental rock acts like Radiohead, Arcade Fire, and Wilco. Lead singer James Delos Reyes mixes the cynical and brooding with satirical playfulness alluding to a vocal temperment like Fiona Apple and borrowing humor akin to political cartoons. His experience of being gay and growing up in the Evangelical church is often reflected in the music. Songs like "Non-Denominational Heretic" and "Drag for a Queen" are characteristic of the lyrical playground that intertwines their melodies. At the same time, the Lavender Scare maintains a spirit that's infectious, engaging, and universal to indie rock fans everywhere. Even fundamentalists will secretly be tapping their toes while shaking their fists.
Dominic Zinn - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Dominic Zinn
"After spending the last few years behind the scenes as a guitarist for several L.A. outfits, Dominic Zinn's The Long Fall EP marks the start of a new solo project with Zinn stepping out into the forefront and showcasing the different styles that have amalgamated throughout his time on the scene. From rock to pop, gypsy jazz to gospel, folk to blues, Zinn writes from a place of varied musical sensibilities with one philosophy in mind: Play what sounds good. The result is an eclectic four-song record which explores the universal topics of love, fear, regret and redemption. To celebrate the release of this new EP, Zinn will be joined on stage by a talented crew of L.A. players who share the same goal of bringing good music to the live stage, and turning people on to what California has always stood for: cool people sharing good times."
