Slow Children
‘Slow Children’ were one of the things that Humbert Humbert was hoping to avoid hitting while driving his car through the American terrain of the book Lolita. This is the origin of the band’s name-- not the street sign. Andrew had been a published songwriter at 17 with a major label album to his credit. Pal was doing illustrations and one of Patti Smith was used as the centerfold for the indie rock magazine “Back Door Man’.

Two years and about a hundred songs later, Slow Children recorded their first single for Jet Records, the label owned by Sharon Osbourne’s dad, Don. Produced by Jules Shear and Stephen Hague (Jules and the Polar Bears), the single caught the attention of Ensign Records’ Nigel Grainge who signed the band. Two albums were eventually sent out into the world, stirring up a lot of attention – including the stunning and provocative cover photo by Robert Mapplethorpe.
LA’s KROQ began (and continues) to play their song “President Am I” whenever someone is running for office – or shouldn’t be.

Fast forward to 2010. Pal and Andrew began writing together again, picking up where they left off. A few years and 40 songs later they went back into the studio to make their 3rd record. Slow Children’s “Cottoncloud9” was recorded in Woodstock NY (Chirp Studios &Coldbrook Productions). The long awaited follow up to “Mad About Town” is now out and available on all major music and social media sites.
